Created by the Kentucky General Assembly, EPIC is an independent state commission responsible for statewide energy planning and assessing whether Kentucky’s electricity supply can meet current and future demand.
EPIC evaluates generation and transmission needs, reviews proposed power plant retirements, and examines how energy decisions affect costs, reliability, and economic growth. Our work equips state leaders to strengthen Kentucky’s energy supply and support reliable, affordable power for families, businesses, and communities across the Commonwealth.
